Edmond Lost Six
In 1975, Edmond High School officially changed its name to Edmond Memorial High School to honor the six graduates who died serving the country during the Vietnam War.

John Charles Wilson (EHS Class of ’63) served in the First Cavalry Division in the Army. He reached the rank of Sergeant, but passed away on October 16th, 1966, in South Vietnam at the age of 22. He was the first Edmond soldier killed in Vietnam.
Floyd Wendell Frazier Jr. (EHS Class of ’65) served in the Army’s 196th Light Infantry Brigade and reached the rank of Sergeant. He passed away on October 19th, 1971, in Quang Nam, Vietnam at the age of 24.


Danny Jean Shores (EHS Class of ’65) served in the Army as a Specialist Fourth Class. Danny passed away on October 6th, 1970, in Quang Ngai, South Vietnam at the age of 23.
Allen Matthew Garrett (EHS Class of ’66) served in the Army’s Eleventh Light Infantry Brigade and reached the rank of Staff Sergeant and squad leader. He passed away April 15th, 1970, in Quang Nam, Vietnam at the age of 22.


James Earl Johnson (EHS Class of ’67) served in the Army’s 196th Light Infantry Brigade and reached the rank of Corporal. James passed away on November 7th, 1969, in Quang Tin, South Vietnam at the age of 21.
James Michael Leonard (EHS Class of ’67) served in the Army’s Fourth Infantry Division and reached the rank of Sergeant. He passed away on May 31st, 1969, in Pleiku, South Vietnam at the age of 20.
