Edmond Thanks Its Heroes!

Edmond is proud of the many men and women who take on military service on behalf of our country. Various memorials are erected in Edmond, like the Edmond Veterans Memorial in Gracelawn Cemetery, or the “Peace” sculpture here in Stephenson’s Park (right), and ceremonies honor their efforts toward freedom. The Edmond History Museum, located in a historic armory, hosts the yearly Veterans Day Ceremony.
Many Edmond veterans, from all eras of service, choose involvement with the American Legion Post #111 and the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Post #4938. These organizations offer a chance to learn more about the benefits they earned through their service and find avenues for contributing a new form of service––community service. Perhaps most importantly, veterans meet fellow comrades who can share their personal stories of grief, struggle, and triumph.
Thank you, Veterans.
