Pioneer Christmas Day Camp

December 12, 2025 @ 9:00 am - December 13, 2025 @ 1:00 pm

Pioneer Christmas at the 1889 Schoolhouse

Step back in time for a festive day of pioneer fun at the 1889 Schoolhouse! During this drop-off program, “scholars” will experience what Christmas was like in 1889 through songs, crafts, and holiday lessons led by the schoolhouse “schoolmarm.” Children will learn about pioneer Christmas traditions such as decorating with natural materials, singing carols, and exchanging handmade gifts. Each scholar will also create a traditional holiday craft to take home.

A pioneer-style Christmas lunch is included, featuring rotisserie chicken, boiled potatoes, roasted carrots, biscuits, and a classic Christmas cookie for dessert. Please note that our menu is nut-free but contains dairy, eggs, and wheat. No substitutions will be offered; families of children with food allergies may send a packed lunch instead.

Dressing up like the time period is encouraged.

There will be two sessions. Session 1 will be on Friday, Dec. 12 and Session 2 will be on Saturday, Dec. 13. They will be sharing the same information.

Program runs from 9:00 AM–1:00 PM.

Recommended for ages 6-12.
