Toodle-oo to the Choo Choo” whistle

After 135 years, the train whistle will no longer blow through Edmond, as the town gradually becomes a Quiet Zone beginning next week. Come say, “Toodle-oo to the Choo Choo” whistle from Noon until 3:00 on Dec 13th at the Dental Depot train deck (100 W. 15^th Street, Edmond). This is a free come-and-go event.

Whether you are a happy or sad to no longer hear the train whistle—it’s a historic moment for this train town! Nearly 30 trains pass through Edmond daily, so the first 30 children attending will receive train goodie bags, sponsored by Dental Depot and Oklahoma Railway Museum. All ages will receive noisemakers. “I Will Miss the Whistle” and “I Won’t Miss the Whistle” photo props will be available. Train schedules are not public, so pack a lunch, visit the Depot train, or play the eye-spy train activities on the outdoor deck while waiting.
