In collaboration with Edmond Mobile Meals, this small exhibit features newspaper clippings on the history of Mobile Meals and oral history videos of Mobile Meals clients discussing their life in Edmond.

Edmond Mobile Meals began because of a community need. A group of dedicated neighbors started a telephone ministry to call homebound residents of Edmond to check in and see if they needed anything. For many of these residents, these callers were the only voice they heard all day and were a source of encouragement. What these dedicated citizens discovered was that the greatest need these homebound individuals had was a hot meal, there were many people, because of their situation, who could not make a nutritious meal for themselves.
Mobile Meals has come a long way since that first day in 1974. the organization now serves over 200 meals each day with a volunteer force of over 400 caring citizens. Edmond Mobile meals reached a milestone on November 18, 2020 when they served their one-millionth meal.

Edmond Mobile Meal is a non-profit charitable organization and has operated independently since 1974. their mission is to provide nourishing meals to elderly and disabled persons who are unable to prepare meals for themselves.
