Ollie McCormick

was the first Schoolmarm of the Oklahoma Territory.

She taught the first class in the 1889 Territorial one-room Schoolhouse in Edmond on

September 16, 1889

At the beginning of the term she taught 19 students,

and by its close, there were a total of 37 pupils.
